Reactions to Junot Diaz readings

Junot Diaz was led into books because of his motivations. His motivation was "...the need for some sort of explanation, the need for answers, the need for something that would somehow shelter me, led me to books..." Two sides that he finds in American culture is that, one side "...which is very close minded, which is very racist..." has a negative meaning towards that term and another side of American culture is "where many things are possible, where a kid like me could come from a non-bookish culture and be transformed", miracles are capable of happening. The internal conflict that he faced as a writer and as an immigrant was that he came to America not knowing how to speak English and how to follow the different culture, so therefore, he started picking up books from the library to help educate himself and also he had to get used to a different culture.

Eddie Ramirez

The other day I had read something that changed the way i think of the religion that i'm following. It stated, how everything they teach you about it isn't true. How theirs no way that two people could have just appeared on earth and started life. For example, Adam and Eve were supposibly the first two people on earth. How did they get here?.. The religion im following doesn't make much sense any more now that it had that question in place..
